What is the non-emergency telephone number for the Sheriff's Department?

What is the fee for a copy of a police report?

Our fee is $7.00 for a copy of an accident report, and $12.00 for all other reports. Please make your check payable to "Somerset County Treasurer" and mail it to the Somerset County Sheriff's Department, 131 East Madison Road, Madison, ME 04950.
What is the fee for Civil Service?

The Somerset County Sheriff's Office charges a $70.00 retainer fee for Civil Service of in-state papers and a $90.00 retainer fee for the service of out-of-state papers. We require a bank check or money order. No personal checks will be accepted. You will receive a refund for any unused funds.

We need the original form and one copy to be sent with your check. The copy will be served on the individual, and the signed original will be mailed back to you after service has been made.

Civil papers may either be mailed or hand-delivered to the Somerset County Sheriff's Office, 131 East Madison Road, Madison, ME 04950. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding holidays.

The Somerset County Sheriff's Department has an anonymous "Tip Line". You may either call (207) 474-0230, or email it to: sherifftips@somersetcounty-me.org.
