Deana Moore, Reserve Dispatcher
Experience
**Currently waiting for a rewrite of Deana's "Experience". Deana no longer works at the Comm. Center fulltime, but has stayed on as a Reserve Dispatcher, after recently taking a fulltime position with one of our Vendors, Yankee Communications.
My Family
I put my daughter first because she is the MOST IMPORTANT person... even though we sometimes argue (she is a teenager). I love her very much. Much like me, she hates her picture taken.

So, what I have is one when she was just 2 years old, I believe. We had made a button of it, so time is questionable. She had the habit early of rolling her eyes. Hindsight being what it is, I should have seen that the "spirit" of that action would carry into her growing years.
You know how there is one person in your life that makes the biggest impression? Someone's whose impact on life you feel always. Mine was my father.
He was the type of guy who was modest, had a great sense of humor. We always thought he looked like a combination of Kenny Rogers and Grizzly Adams. He would grow out his hair and beard during the winter months and we would put braids throughout his hair. He'd act like we were annoying him, but we weren't (unless he was trying to listen to the news). He was one of those guys that hated cats, but when he was watching the evening news, one would curl up on his lap while he sipped his coffee. He didn't profess to be brilliant, but every job he did was done as a master craftsman. Everything he did, he did well, right down to putting up a fence, measuring equidistance between post, each posts dug so far down, each one the same height.
I can't remember how old we were when he had his accidents, but he shattered disk in his back. He had three back surgeries, fusing those disk. I don't remember how long it took him to recuperate, but he was never without pain for the rest of his life. Though pain was a constant, he still managed to do what needed to be done, and would refuse to make us girls do things he didn't feel we should do.
Though not a rich man, the things he gave us were priceless.
I lost my dad in 1995. It was sudden, we only had 2 weeks. He was taken by
lung cancer. The thing I regret the most is not telling him how much I respected
him, how intelligent I thought he was. You see, he had to quit High School
when he was young, got a job to help his family. He then went into the service.
Like me, he graduated from Skowhegan High School, his in 1978. I was very
proud of him and loved him very much and didn't tell him nearly as often as
I should have.

The rest of the story.
My partner in life and best friend is Larry. He has taught me much in such a short time. My "interest" and activities have grown because of him, so when I am not working I am busy. This helps with my stress levels. Everyone at work should thank Larry.
I can't forget to mention our dog, Gator. He's such a baby. He hates to be left behind, so he likes it when we take him for a ride. It's hard to keep him with a ball, because he chews it to pieces within a month.
I have two brothers, Joe & Mike, and my Mom, Joy, living in Farmington. They own and run a paintball field, SweetSpot. They work with University of Maine in Farmington and Project Santa Claus.
Everytime you are caught swearing on the field you must pay a quarter to the pot, which goes to Project Santa Claus. Most people pay the optional $2.00 before starting to cover any of those "slip-of-the-tongues". If you are interested, check it out, 778-9213.
I have a sister and her partner & their son in Pennsylvania; Stasia, Scott & Shawn. I miss them a lot. We haven't visited them and vice versa for a while.
My other sister is in Florida, Chrystal. I've visited once, but that's a lot further and it's too hot for me. I LOVE MAINE!
My Hobbies
I'll keep this brief. Besides playing with computer programs and html, I
crochet, knit, cross stitch, paint christmas ornaments which I cut out on
my scroll saw, collect shot glasses of NASCAR tracks and drivers, and more.
My Interest
I love watching races. Mostly Winston Cup, but also Busch and anything else I can. I have favorite drivers; Dale Jarritt, Matt Kenseth. I don't dislike any.
We also have been to Daytona and Dover, besides Loudon. Larry has been to every race at Loudon since they opened, except one! I've been to four Winston Cup weekends and 2 Busch races, Saturday only.
Now, I love being outside, fishing, ice fishing, camping, etc. It wasn't until I met Larry that I learned to snowmobile. We have Yamaha's (is there anything else) and I love putting on as many miles as possible. I like day rides, but nights are more fun.
The other thing we recently started (both of us) is 4-wheeling (again, Yamaha's). I love this. Whether it be mudding, on trails or just getting us to those fishing holes, they are GREAT!
